Synopsis[]

Ritsu Onodera, an editor in the shojo manga department of Marukawa Publishing, has one archnemesis, editor in chief and hotshot boss Masamune Takano, the very same man who also happens to be Ritsu’s first love! Though it hasn’t been easy working under Takano, Ritsu has finally decided to do his best at becoming a proper manga editor. Concerned over the sales of his first manga, he visits a local bookstore only to run into sales rep Yokozawa, who promptly tells Ritsu he’s dating Takano![1]

Plot[]

In "The Case of Ritsu Onodera No.5," Ritsu Onodera struggles with his new role as coordinator, first by setting a deadline too early because he didn't properly negotiate with the printers. A week later, Ritsu runs in Takafumi Yokozawa, who suggests that he's dating Masamune Takano and tells Ritsu to move away. Back at Emerald, still no one has handed in a manuscript because it's still too early, so Takano gives Ritsu notes on dealing with the printers. He also invites Ritsu to dinner to celebrate his first manga volume release, but Ritsu declines the offer. Ritsu follows the instructions and things go well with the printers. Takano catches him on his way home and gets Ritsu to join him for celebratory drinks. Ritsu ends up drinking too much and confronting Takano about his relationship with Yokozawa, but Takano tells him that he loves Ritsu. They end up having sex, but Ritsu doesn't remember when he wakes up in Takano's bed in the morning. He quickly gets dressed and leaves, insisting that he isn't interested in a relationship.

"The Case of Shouta Kisa No.1" introduces the new relationship between Shouta Kisa and Kou Yukina despite Kisa's belief that he couldn't have a serious relationship. Yukina is an employee at Marimo Books who has caught Kisa's eye, and Kisa sometimes goes there to check him out. On one such outing, he runs into Yokozawa there who pushes him to meet the staff, and he meets Yukina formally. Kisa then runs into a one-night-stand in the store, who starts to get aggressive with him before Yukina intervenes and Kisa runs out. Yukina later runs into Kisa at a cafe, and he makes plans to sell more of Kisa's books. While planning, Yukina leans over the table and kisses him.

"The Case of Shouta Kisa No.2" begins with Kisa unable to concentrate at work several days after his kiss with Yukina, while Yukina is going through with his promise to have a sales fair for Kisa's new book. After work, Kisa goes to Marimo Books and sees the elaborate sales display Yukina created for his book. They agree to meet after Yukina's shift, but Kisa's ex-lover appears again and harasses Kisa to get back with him. As he's getting more aggressive outside, Yukina knocks him to the ground and threatens him, making him run off. Yukina apologizes for intervening, and since the cafe is closed he invites Kisa back to his place. They talk about what Yukina overheard with the guy, and Yukina confronts Kisa about his interest and for avoiding him. Yukina tells him he likes him and asks to go out. Kisa initially turns him down, but he relents to his own feelings and they have sex. Later at work, Kisa learns that his book is getting an additional printing, and Yukina texts him, "I love you."
